A vintage promotional advertising card or folder flap produced for National Westminster Bank, dating from approximately the late 1960s or early 1970s following the bank’s formation. The item features a monochrome illustration executed in the style of a 19th-century line engraving, depicting a bustling scene outside a French post house. The building is inscribed with the words POSTE and VOYAGE A PIED & a Cheval (Travel on foot & by horse). The illustration includes a mail coach, horses, and various figures in period costume. A large integrated speech bubble contains the printed text WELCOME EVERYBODY! AND ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH NATIONAL WESTMINSTER TRAVEL CHEQUES. The card is irregularly shaped and features two punched holes at the upper left through which a white cotton hanging cord is threaded. The reverse of the upper edge displays a blue and white patterned design, suggesting the piece may have been a component of a larger promotional pack or a shaped folder.
