A vintage promotional hanging advertisement for National Westminster Bank, dating from the early post-decimalisation period. The sign is a die-cut, tapered shield-shaped display manufactured from heavy cardstock. It features a woodcut-style illustration rendered in a two-tone blue and black palette, depicting two figures in historical seventeenth or eighteenth-century costume counting a pile of coins. A large circular speech bubble contains the printed text: ANOTHER 50p AND WE MUST OPEN A SAVINGS ACCOUNT WITH THE NATIONAL WESTMINSTER. The piece retains its original white braided hanging cord, which is threaded through two punched holes at the upper edge.
