A mid-century modern teak-veneered extending dining table manufactured by James H. Sutcliffe and Son Ltd of Todmorden, Lancashire. The table features an oval top with a central butterfly-style extension leaf that folds out from the middle to increase seating capacity. The piece is supported by a twin-pedestal base, with each pedestal featuring splayed Y-shaped feet joined by a low-set central stretcher. The underside of the table bears a rectangular paper manufacturer label which reads established 1887 SUTCLIFFE furniture James H. Sutcliffe and Son Ltd. Todmorden, Lancashire. The construction comprises teak veneers over a solid wood frame.
