An Arts and Crafts style open armchair of solid oak construction. The back features two wide, gently arched horizontal slats positioned between square-section uprights. It has shaped, down-swept open arms supported by sturdy uprights. The construction displays prominent exposed pegged joinery throughout the frame. The fixed padded seat is upholstered in a brown leather-effect material. The chair is raised on square-section legs, which are united by a high H-stretcher, also featuring visible pegged joints. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible. A small white inventory sticker is present on the right arm, bearing the printed or handwritten characters 043.
