A Victorian style taxidermy mount of a Red Grouse (Lagopus lagopus scotica) presented in a full body standing pose. The specimen displays the characteristic mottled brown, black, and white plumage of its summer phase, along with feathered feet typical of the genus Lagopus. It is set within a naturalistic landscape on a base of sand and grit, interspersed with dried botanical elements resembling heather. The entire assembly is housed under a circular blown-glass dome. The dome rests upon a contoured ebonised wooden base with a moulded edge. No maker’s marks, labels, or inscriptions are visible on the bird or the display housing.
