Lot 56 1933 Boy Scouts Association Assistant Cubmaster Warrant for John Bootes of Margate

A framed official appointment warrant from The Boy Scouts Association, dated 13th October 1933. The document is issued to John Bootes of 23 Victoria Road, Margate, appointing him as Assistant Cubmaster of the 3rd Margate (Holy Trinity) Group, Registered Number 4082, within the Margate Local Association in the County of Kent. The certificate features a decorative border incorporating scouting knots and symbols, including the two-finger salute and a wolf’s head. On the left side is a line illustration of a scout in uniform holding a flag. The warrant bears the printed facsimile signature of the movement founder, Robert Baden-Powell, as Chief Scout. At the lower left, the printer’s mark reads STRAKER BROTHERS LIMITED, 194-200, BISHOPSGATE, LONDON. The document is presented in a glazed wooden frame.
