A compact oak chest of drawers, commonly referred to as a bachelor’s chest, executed in the Jacobean Revival style. The piece features a rectangular top with a moulded edge above three full-width drawers that are graduated in depth. Each drawer is fitted with two dark-patinated metal drop handles featuring ornate circular backplates in a traditional style. The carcass is constructed with traditional panelled sides featuring recessed floating panels. The chest is supported by a shaped plinth base that incorporates integral bracket feet. The primary wood is oak, displaying a characteristic open grain and finished with a dark stain. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior of the piece.
