A Royal Doulton polychrome glazed ceramic figurine of the Shakespearean character Sir John Falstaff, model number HN 2054. The figure is depicted in a characteristic pose with hands on hips, featuring a portly figure, white beard, and moustache. The character is dressed in period-style attire including an orange-red doublet, a green ruff and cloak, and tall green boots. The underside of the base bears the green printed Royal Doulton factory mark, comprising a lion atop a crown and a circular stamp. Additional markings include the title Falstaff, model number H.N. 2054, copyright date COPR 1949, and Doulton & Co Limited. There is a small, hand-painted decorator’s mark in black, possibly the initials RB.
