An ornate Victorian style cast metal double inkstand. The piece features an elaborate openwork base decorated with scrolled foliate motifs and a central recessed pen tray, resting on four integrated feet. Flanking the centre are two circular inkwells decorated with foliate relief work. The wells are fitted with hinged, domed lids, each finished with a decorative knop finial and leaf-and-dart borders. The cast metal exhibits a dark, naturally aged patina. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible.
