A large twentieth-century porcelain baluster-form vase, attributed to Y.P. Derevua, decorated in a vibrant polychrome palette in the Imari style. The body features two large, shaped cartouches, each depicting an exotic bird perched among flowering peonies and foliage. The neck and shoulders are further embellished with bands of scrolling floral and foliate motifs within decorative borders, executed in shades of iron red, cobalt blue, ochre, purple, and green. The decoration is transfer-printed with overglaze hand-painted highlights, giving the patterns a rich, textured appearance. The vase has a flared, out-turned rim with a white interior.
