This commemorative offset lithograph, titled Arnhem, is after an original oil painting by the artist Geoffrey E. Lea. The work depicts a historical military scene from the first day of Operation Market Garden on 17 September 1944, showing Douglas C-47 Dakotas over the landing and drop zones at Renkum Heath, with gliders and paratroopers visible in the landscape below. The print was commissioned in 1994 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the action by the Parachute and Glider-borne troops of the 1st Airborne Division. It is hand-signed in pencil to the lower-left margin by Major General J.D. Frost, who was the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Parachute Battalion during the operation. The print features the emblem of the Parachute Regiment to the lower-right margin and includes printed descriptive text at the bottom. The artist signature is plate-signed to the lower right of the image. No edition number is visible on the sheet.
