A pair of vintage rectangular military-style hairbrushes without handles. The metal backs feature a gold-tone finish decorated with a fine barleycorn engine-turned pattern and stepped borders characteristic of the Art Deco period. Each brush has a central rectangular cartouche with engraved vertical monograms. The first brush is engraved with the letters S, V, and P. The second brush is engraved with the letters J, A, and S. The brushes are fitted with stiff natural bristles in a warm amber hue. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces.
