Two English lidded ceramic ginger jars of varying sizes and decoration. The larger jar is constructed from glazed earthenware by Sadler and features an ovoid form. The body is decorated with a transfer-printed polychrome floral arrangement, including a prominent yellow chrysanthemum, pink peonies, and red flowers amongst green and dark foliage. The domed lid displays a matching floral spray and a geometric foliate border in red, gold, and green. The base is stamped with the Sadler crown mark, Made in Staffordshire, England. The smaller jar is crafted from Mason’s Patent Ironstone and features the Paynsley pattern. This design consists of delicate garden floral sprays including a wine-coloured blossom, bluebells, and a yellow-centred purple flower. The lid is decorated with a repeating green foliate border.
