The print bears a signature reading G. D. Giles in the lower-left corner of the image area. Centred in the lower margin is the printed title ‘THE GALLOP PAST’, accompanied by several lines of descriptive text identifying the Royal Horse Artillery and the location as Windsor. The work is a colour-tinted photogravure, featuring tonal gradations characteristic of the medium. It is housed in a simple dark wood frame behind a green mount.
