A taxidermy shoulder mount of a Black Wildebeest, also referred to as a White-tailed Gnu. The specimen is prepared as a wall-hanging mount, posed looking forward with a slight turn towards its right. The mount features the characteristic dark brown to black coarse pelage of the species, with a distinctive fringe of stiff hair along the bridge of the nose and a beard-like mane beneath the chin. It is fitted with glass eyes and well-preserved, textured horns that display the typical hooked shape, curving downwards and forwards before pointing upwards, set upon broad, flattened bases or bosses.
