The model is finished in British Railways lined black livery and features the early lion on wheel emblem on the tender. The locomotive and tender are primarily of die-cast metal construction with plastic detail parts. The model is mounted on a black plastic track-effect display plinth with a gold-tone printed label identifying the locomotive and the series logo. The item is presented in its original clear plastic blister packaging with a scenic card insert. An original retail price sticker for a fortnightly publication is attached to the left side of the packaging.
