A pair of tall decorative candlesticks in the Continental Baroque style. Each piece is constructed from hand-carved wood with a layered gesso and gilded finish. The form features a tripartite base with scrolled feet, acanthus leaf flourishes, and central shell motifs. The stems are turned and carved with multiple knops incorporating fluted and foliate elements. The upper section terminates in a gadrooned candle cup. One cup is drilled with a central hole, possibly for a metal pricket or previous electrical fitting.
