A pair of Victorian-style side chairs featuring a balloon-back design. The frames are constructed from mahogany with an open, waisted back and carved scrollwork to the mid-rail. Each chair is raised on cabriole front legs and slightly outswept rear legs. The drop-in seats are upholstered in a mustard-yellow velvet fabric and finished with decorative brass nailhead trim around the borders. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the pieces.
