A pair of Louis XV style armchairs (fauteuils) featuring carved wooden frames with a gold-toned gilt finish. The frames are decorated with rocaille and scroll motifs to the cresting rails, aprons, and knees. Each chair has a shaped, padded backrest and open arms with upholstered pads (manchettes) supported by curved uprights. The chairs are raised on cabriole legs ending in scrolled feet. The upholstery consists of a striped damask fabric with floral patterns in cream, burgundy, and dark blue, finished with brass-toned nailhead trim and including loose seat cushions. A small handwritten tag is attached to one leg reading X 500 set.
