A late Victorian overmantel mirror executed in rosewood with elaborate boxwood and satinwood marquetry inlays, dating to approximately 1880-1890. The design reflects the Aesthetic Movement with its architectural stepped profile and galleries of turned spindles and finials. The structure features a large central arched mirror plate, flanked by four smaller rectangular mirror plates and multiple display shelves supported by turned galleries. The marquetry decoration includes intricate foliate scrolls, anthemion motifs, and a central panel depicting stylised aquatic creatures among scrolling vines. The frame incorporates fine boxwood stringing and stepped mouldings. No labels or signatures were identified during inspection.
