A late Victorian or early 20th century armchair designed in the Howard style. The chair features a low and deep-seated frame with a reclined back and out-scrolled P-style arms. It is currently upholstered in a dark blue-grey fabric with a subtle woven damask pattern and piped detailing. The piece is raised on ring-turned front legs of dark-stained hardwood, possibly mahogany, and splayed square-section rear legs. All four legs terminate in brass casters. There are no maker marks, stamps, or labels visible on the frame, legs, or casters.
