A collection of late Victorian silver-gilt and cut-glass dressing table items. The assembly includes a rectangular jar with a heavy diamond-cut glass base and a silver-gilt lid, together with three separate circular silver-gilt lids. The rectangular lid is embossed with a central raised oval boss within a foliate and scrolled border. The three circular lids are decorated with an embossed scene depicting Reynolds’ Angels, a motif inspired by the 1787 painting A Child’s Angels by Sir Joshua Reynolds. All metal components are constructed from sterling silver with a gold wash.
