A small figural vessel modelled in the form of two upright fish joined back-to-back. The piece is crafted from earthenware, where the open mouths of the fish create the upper aperture and their conjoined tail fins flare out to form a stable pedestal base. The decoration features a variegated polychrome lead glaze, with a palette dominated by deep oxblood red and purplish-brown tones on the main bodies, transitioning to an ochre yellow at the rim and base. The anatomical details of the fish, such as the scales and fins, are executed in a stylized manner. The recessed base shows several indistinct dark marks, including three short vertical parallel lines and a larger irregular smudge, though no clear manufacturer stamp is discernible.
