This lot comprises a decorative, footed ceramic bowl of substantial form, exhibiting the characteristics of mid-20th century studio pottery. The exterior body is densely and ornately decorated with hand-modelled, applied ruffles or scrolls, creating an organic, coral-like, or barnacle effect. The piece is finished in a high-gloss, variegated glaze in earthy tones of deep chocolate brown, tan, and cream. The interior and lower base section feature a dark, mottled glaze.
