A collection of five die-stamped brass police helmet plates primarily from the North West of England, dating from the early to mid-20th century. The group includes a St Helens Police plate featuring a Tudor crown surmounting a laurel wreath with the borough coat of arms in the central medallion, inscribed ST HELENS POLICE. Also present is a Port of Liverpool Police plate in the form of an eight-pointed star surmounted by a Tudor crown, inscribed PORT OF LIVERPOOL POLICE around a central coat of arms. A Liverpool City Police plate features a Tudor crown and laurel wreath surrounding a raised Liver bird emblem, inscribed LIVERPOOL CITY POLICE. The collection further contains two eight-pointed star plates; one is inscribed with partial text NSTAB, consistent with a Special Constabulary or County Constabulary issue, and the other features a central wreath and emblem characteristic of municipal forces of the era. All plates feature the Tudor crown, identifying them as pre-1953 issue.
