A contemporary country style blanket chest or storage trunk constructed from solid pine with a waxed finish. The chest features a rectangular hinged lid with a rounded moulded edge, which opens to reveal a single deep storage compartment. The lid is attached with two internal metal butt hinges and is supported by a single brass-toned metal safety chain. The front face of the trunk is decorated with a single large recessed panel. The entire piece is supported on four turned bun feet. The timber exhibits prominent natural knots and a straight grain throughout. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
