A pair of cast metal candlesticks executed in the Rococo Revival style. Each piece stands on a tripod base featuring scrolling foliate feet and C-scroll motifs. The stems are heavily knopped and decorated with cast acanthus leaf and gadrooning details, leading to flared drip pans and circular candle sockets. The items are finished with a gilt surface over a base metal alloy. An aperture at the top of one socket reveals a white composition or plaster internal core used for weighting. No maker’s marks or hallmarks were identified. A small paper adhesive label bearing the inventory number 0423 is present on one base.
