This lot comprises two examples of mid-20th-century decorative art glass. The first item is a hand-blown free-form bowl crafted using the sommerso technique, featuring a deep ruby red core encased within a thick colourless glass layer. The vessel has an asymmetrical, biomorphic silhouette with a broad, undulating rim and a heavy base, in the style of Italian glass from the Murano region. The second item is a decorative posy vase in translucent pink glass. It features a compressed bulbous body rising to a widely flared and heavily ruffled rim with two sides pulled to form integral handles. This design is characteristic of mid-century Czech glass, in the style of pieces designed by Josef Hospodka for the Chribska glassworks. No signatures, labels, or maker’s marks are visible on either piece.
