This group of miniature decorative figurines is modelled after the famous Terracotta Army discovered in Xi’an, China. The collection includes a kneeling archer, a standing officer with hands positioned to hold a weapon, and a standing armoured soldier with hands clasped. Each figure is crafted from moulded dark grey terracotta with a matt charcoal finish. An artificial surface wash has been applied to the recesses of the garments to simulate the appearance of excavated burial items. These are contemporary souvenir replicas dating from the late 20th or early 21st century. The standing officer figure is currently fitted with a white cylindrical placeholder where a miniature weapon would originally reside. No maker’s marks or reign marks are visible on the pieces.
