This oak gateleg drop-leaf table is designed in the traditional English 17th-century manner. The tabletop comprises a central fixed rectangular panel flanked by two semi-oval drop leaves with a simple moulded edge. The base features turned legs with block joints, connected by rectangular-section stretchers. Two of the legs act as gates, swinging out to support the leaves when raised. The wood is finished with a dark stain. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
