An early 20th-century Jacobean Revival dark oak sideboard back or overmantel mirror of substantial proportions. The piece features a central octagonal-shaped bevelled mirror glass within a moulded frame, flanked by prominent barley-twist columns and fluted pilasters. The architectural upper section consists of a heavy dentil-moulded cornice positioned over a central raised geometric boss. The flanking side panels are decorated with further geometric mouldings. The primary timber is oak with a dark-stained finish. Construction features period-appropriate geometric relief work and carved architectural elements.
