This Victorian mahogany chest of drawers is designed in a traditional two over three configuration, featuring two short drawers above three graduated long drawers. The rectangular top has slightly rounded front corners, positioned above a carcase with matching rounded pilasters. The piece is supported by a plinth base resting on short, turned feet. The drawer fronts are fitted with turned wooden mushroom knobs and central inset keyholes. While internal joinery is not visible, construction of this period typically includes hand-cut dovetail joints with secondary woods such as pine or oak for the liners. The exterior is finished in a dark mahogany stain. No maker marks, stamps, or labels are visible.
