A vintage 9ct yellow gold brooch of traditional design, modelled as a textured ribbon tied in a bow. The front surface of the bow features a fine Florentine or hatched engine-turned finish, contrasted by polished edges. The piece is secured to the reverse with a pin and a rollover safety clasp. The reverse of the bow loops bears British hallmarks for 9 carat gold, including the 9 and .375 stamps, alongside the anchor symbol for the Birmingham Assay Office. It also carries a maker’s mark appearing to be S and P, attributed to the prolific British jewellery firm Saunders and Shepherd.
