This lot consists of a collection of British police uniform badges, including helmet plates and cap badges, primarily associated with law enforcement forces in the Merseyside region of the United Kingdom. The items are manufactured from stamped brass and white metal or silvered brass. The collection includes a star-shaped white metal helmet plate for the Port of Liverpool Police with a central coat of arms; a brass star-shaped Merseyside Police badge featuring the ER royal cypher of Queen Elizabeth II; a star-shaped brass Wallasey Police badge with a central coat of arms; a brass Liverpool & Bootle Constabulary badge surmounted by a crown with a central shield containing crowns and liver birds; a wreath-shaped brass Liverpool Police cap badge surmounted by a crown with a central liver bird emblem; and a wreath-shaped brass St. Helens Police badge surmounted by a crown featuring a central coat of arms. These badges represent various constituent forces, many of which were amalgamated during the local government reorganisations of 1974.
