This two-piece meat carving set consists of a knife and a fork, originating from India and dating to approximately the mid-20th century. The knife features a single-edged steel blade with a clipped point, and the fork is designed with two steel tines. Both implements are fitted with handles made of dark-coloured wood, hand-carved with floral decorative motifs. These handles are secured with brass crossguards that terminate in small globular finials. The set is housed in a matching carved wooden scabbard that accommodates both pieces. The scabbard is decorated with similar floral carvings and is equipped with a brass sliding-pin locking mechanism and small brass stand-off feet on one side. The knife blade and the base of the fork tines are incised with the mark INDIA.
