A vintage rectangular steel ammunition container, finished in olive drab paint. The design features a side-opening hinged lid secured by a wire toggle-action latch and a top-mounted folding metal carrying handle. This pattern of box was widely utilised for the transport of small arms ammunition. The exterior shows an auction lot sticker numbered 0367 on the lid. Traces of original stencilled markings are present but largely illegible due to wear.
