A group of decorative items including Chinese Baoding exercise balls and carved scarabs. The Baoding balls are crafted with cloisonné enamel over metal cores, featuring traditional motifs on a black ground. One ball displays a green and yellow dragon motif with gold-tone wirework detailing, while the other features red and gold stylised patterns. The scarabs are carved from a light-coloured, translucent material, likely soapstone or steatite. The larger scarab has an underside incised with decorative symbols resembling Egyptian hieroglyphs, including a seated human figure and a bird. These items are characteristic of 20th-century decorative manufacture intended for the export or souvenir market.
