A mid-20th-century footed pressed glass bowl in a pale blue colour. The piece features a wide, flared rim with alternating long and short pointed lobes in a sunburst arrangement. The interior well is decorated with a central sunburst or rosette motif, surrounded by a circular band of diamond-faceted patterns. Vertical ribbing radiates from the central design up to the tips of the rim. The bowl is supported by a heavy, multi-sided pedestal foot with moulded geometric detailing. This item is characteristic of designs produced by English glasshouses such as Bagley and Co or Sowerby during the 1930s to 1950s, although no manufacturer’s marks are visible.
