A scale model of the historic 1829 Stephenson’s Rocket steam locomotive and accompanying tender. This item appears to be a completed plastic assembly kit, possibly by a manufacturer such as Airfix or Dapol. The locomotive is finished in a characteristic yellow and black livery and features a tall chimney, inclined cylinders with metal piston rods, and yellow spoked wheels with grey rims. A small rectangular nameplate is affixed to the side of the boiler bearing the name Rocket. The four-wheel tender is finished in a matching yellow and carries a yellow water barrel and a simulated load of coal. The model is a static display piece constructed primarily from plastic with some metal components.
