A contemporary step-form chest of drawers, likely late 20th century in origin. The unit features a graduated staircase profile and houses twenty-one small drawers of uniform size, each fitted with a single turned wooden knob. The chest is constructed from a light-toned wood, possibly pine or a similar soft-grained hardwood, and is finished with a warm honey-coloured stain. The design draws inspiration from traditional Japanese kaidan-tansu or staircase chests, a style frequently replicated in contemporary Indonesian furniture production.
Approximate height: 95cm.
