A mid-century modern three-drawer chest, also referred to as a lowboy, manufactured by G-Plan for E. Gomme Ltd of High Wycombe, England. The exterior is finished in teak veneer with a clean, minimalist design characteristic of the 1950s. The chest features three graduated long drawers, each fitted with a pair of rectangular, block-style brass-toned metal pulls. It is supported by four tapered legs with a dark stain finish, ending in adjustable brass-capped feet. The secondary wood used for the drawer interiors appears to be a lighter hardwood. A manufacturer mark is visible inside one of the drawers in the form of a gold stamp, which includes a square emblem containing the letters EG, surrounded by the text E. GOMME and HIGH WYCOMBE, with G-PLAN printed beneath. This particular gold stamp was utilised by the company between 1952 and 1965.
