A decorative trench art vase repurposed from a brass artillery shell casing, dating from the First World War era. The body of the shell is hand-decorated with an engraved floral design featuring stylised tulips or similar blooms emerging from a central vase. The upper edge has been decoratively finished with a hand-cut scalloped or dog-tooth rim. This piece represents a typical example of soldier-made or civilian souvenir work produced during the 1914-1918 conflict. The brass displays a natural aged patina. No maker marks or headstamps are visible from the side profile.
