A mid-century industrial single-pedestal steel tanker desk, in the style of those manufactured by McDowell & Craig. This piece is constructed from steel with a dark grey-olive painted finish. The configuration features a single pedestal to the right-hand side containing two drawers: a standard upper drawer and a deeper lower filing drawer. A shallow central drawer is located beneath the desktop. The piece is fitted with curved metal pull handles and a lock to the top pedestal drawer. The rectangular desktop is finished with a dark composite material, likely linoleum, and is bordered by a protective metal edge trim. The desk stands on four square-section metal legs with protective feet. No maker’s marks are visible.
