A large Jacobean Revival overmantel mirror constructed from dark-stained oak. The architectural frame features a central octagonal mirror plate set within a recessed surround. The mirror is flanked by two side panels, each decorated with raised geometric mouldings and a central diamond-shaped boss. Six barley-twist solomonic columns support a substantial top rail, which is further detailed with a centrally carved cartouche and a dentil-moulded cornice. The reverse of the frame retains an original paper retailer label for Jones and Higgins Ltd, Complete House Furnishers, Greater London’s Greatest Store, Peckham, S.E.
