A 20th-century mahogany pedestal desk in the George III style. The rectangular top features a moulded edge and an inset green leather writing surface with a gold-tooled border. The desk is configured with a central frieze drawer flanked by two smaller drawers. The left-hand pedestal contains three graduated drawers, while the right-hand pedestal features a single cupboard door with a panelled front designed to complement the drawer fronts. The drawers are fitted with brass swan-neck handles and decorative brass escutcheons, while the cupboard door is fitted with a small brass pull knob. The pedestals are detailed with fluted pilasters to the corners and the entire piece is raised on bracket feet.
