Description
This four-drawer chest is designed in the Mid-Century Modern style, dating from the mid-20th century. Based on the distinctive shingled or louvred drawer fronts, the piece is attributed to Stanley Furniture. The unit is finished in a walnut-toned wood veneer over a secondary timber carcass. The configuration features a single top drawer fitted with two oval brass-toned metal knobs, positioned above three lower drawers with a handle-less design and recessed finger pulls on the undersides. The chest is supported by four tapered and slightly splayed wooden legs. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces. Internal drawer construction, including the presence of dovetail joints, cannot be confirmed as the drawers were not opened for inspection. The hardware appears original to the piece.
