Description
A Mid-Century Modern secretaire bureau bookcase of single-piece construction. The unit is finished in a dark-toned wood veneer, possibly teak or walnut. The upper display section is fitted with twin sliding glass doors. Below, a central fall-front bureau opens on metal hinges to reveal a fitted interior with vertical pigeonholes and a central horizontal shelf. The lower section comprises a cupboard with twin sliding doors providing open storage. The piece is raised on four black-painted tapered and splayed legs. Hardware includes two curved brass-toned metal loop handles to the fall-front and two recessed oval-shaped metal finger pulls to the lower doors. No maker’s marks or factory stamps are visible.
