Description
This collection comprises an assortment of mid-20th century travel memorabilia and photographic items. The first item is a spiral-bound souvenir album titled Khajuraho, featuring gold-coloured lettering and a green graphic of an Indian sculptural figure on a white card cover. It contains 60 colour photographs depicting the Nagara-style architecture and sculptures of the Khajuraho Group of Monuments in Madhya Pradesh, India. The second item is a souvenir booklet of Rome, Italy, featuring a sepia-toned cover image of a classical statue and the S.P.Q.R. (Senatus Populusque Romanus) crest. The title text in red-brown is partially legible as Visioni Romane. The third item is a sepia-toned stereoview card depicting a large outdoor military gathering with uniformed figures in formation before a treeline, marked with a small numeral 6 at the top centre. The final item is a brown paper folder containing a quantity of loose black and white photographic prints, appearing to be personal snapshots and travel photography from the period.
