Description
A bone china coffee service designed by Susie Cooper in the Persia pattern. The set features a transfer-printed design consisting of vertical bands of stylised foliate and wheat motifs in olive green and sepia tones against a white ground. The service comprises a tall cylindrical lidded coffee pot with a loop handle and curved spout, a matching cream jug, a lidded sugar bowl, and a set of coffee cups and saucers. The underside of the pieces bears a printed mark in dark brown including the Susie Cooper script signature, an asterisk symbol, and the text BONE CHINA, ENGLAND, PERSIA, C 2018. This pattern was introduced in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
