Description
A mid-century Ferguson Model 382U table-top valve radio, manufactured by the Ferguson Radio Corporation, a product of Thorn Electrical Industries Ltd., Enfield, Middlesex. The unit is housed in a dark brown stained wood cabinet with a cream-coloured plastic front surround and a tan diamond-pattern woven fabric speaker grille. The front features a script metal Ferguson badge. The rectangular glass tuning scale displays three bands: Long, Medium, and VHF/FM, listing various European and UK stations including Luxembourg, Hilversum, Home, Light, and Third. Control is provided by two dark brown plastic knobs for Off/On Tone and Tuning, alongside four push-button band selectors. The rear fibreboard panel is printed with manufacturer details and includes a paper label stating Model 382 U and Serial No. Duplicate 41459. The radio is fitted with a modern white UK 3-pin plug.
